Epson Calibration
Why do my photos look awful when I print them?
I have a Dell Vostro 1500 laptop. Windows XP operating system. I use Adobe Photoshop to edit photos. The picture quality looks great when I see it on my monitor, but when I print them out on my HP Photosmart C5180 they look kind of dark and the coloring is always off! Why is this? I have used several printers…Epson, etc. Supposedly nice photo printers. But I ALWAYS have this problem of the color being off. And the photos look like crap. I am tired of wasting my money on printers. I have tried the calibration before, although difficult to do on a laptop. I have used a PC before and still the same results. Is this something that I need a Mac for? Would the pics possibly look any better????
I use a Canon Rebel for photographing.
Pixels are set at a high resolution.
Prints heads are clean and calibrated.
Using high quality photo paper on the correct setting of the computer.
Using high resolution setting to print photos.
Already tried ICC profile, did not help.
Go to http://www.shutterbug.com and type ‘colorblind computer’ in the Search box. Scroll down until you find the David B. Brooks article “Make Your “Coorblind” Computer See As You Do” which was in the July 2008 issue. He also had a article about this in the Dec. 2008 issue. Its titled “Prints Don’t Match Images on Screen.”
